  • Goldstar Team Expands As Business Celebrates Period Of Record Growth

August 24, 2023

Leading North-east business Goldstar Cleaning Services is setting its sights on further growth after achieving one of the most successful periods in its 43-year history.

The Aberdeen-based specialist cleaning firm, which serves both the commercial and domestic sectors, is expanding its 170-strong workforce after securing multiple new contracts across Aberdeen City and Shire and extending its client base in Tayside.

Run by the family partnership of Scott and Rachel Willox, Goldstar provides cleaning and maintenance services to many of Scotland’s major housebuilders and works in partnership with more than 600 regular clients across the construction, retail, leisure, hospitality, healthcare, education, and domestic sectors.

Goldstar has overcome the significant staffing challenges created by Brexit and dealt head-on with the impact of the Covid crisis, by continuing to invest in recruitment, logistics and technologies to meet the current and future needs of its client base.

Demand for Goldstar services is at record levels and Senior Partner Scott Willox said he was delighted that the team’s performance and efforts to adapt and develop the business had contributed to one of Goldstar’s busiest years to date.

He said: “Demand across every area of operations is high. We are seeing an upsurge in demand for our domestic services, as homeowners appreciate the value of our regular cleaning services, window cleaning, and garden maintenance teams. We are also pleased to be achieving steady and sustained growth in our commercial business as we develop new partnerships, expand into Tayside, and continue to extend our service range to offer a ‘one-stop-shop’ to meet our clients’ cleaning and maintenance needs.

Scott added: “We are immensely proud to support so many local businesses and sectors as they each face their own challenges. These past few years have shown us all how quickly livelihoods can change, and we appreciate that the long-term success of our business is built on the strength of our client relationships and our ability to understand their needs and deliver on our promises.

“As a well-established family business, we take everything personally. The pride in every job and the pressure to succeed is in our DNA and we will never be complacent or take any part of our business for granted. In an increasingly competitive market, we are proud to be the trusted local team that is always on-hand to ensure the delivery of the exceptional service that our clients demand. We look forward with great excitement as we move into a new era of growth and sustainability for Goldstar.”

Goldstar has twice been named Best Large Business in the Trades Awards, in 2018 and 2021; and was Highly Commended for Outstanding Customer Service in the Trades Awards 2022. It was also a Business of the Year finalist in the 2021 Northern Star Business Awards and named Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes 2022 Sub-Contractor of the Year.
