The lighter nights are upon us and we’re all thinking of a good old #Spring #clean, but what if it’s your mind that needs more attention? In the second of our #SpringWellness campaign blogs, Goldstar’s yoga guru 🧘♀️ Mhairi Thomson 🧘♀️has enlisted the help of some of her colleagues to answer one simple but powerful question… What are you most #thankful for?

“It’s so nice to live somewhere that has seasons, but can we safely put our winter coats and fluffy jumpers away? I think we all want to lighten things up in Spring; wearing lighter clothes and shoes can make us feel better and a Spring clean is always good for the soul! Getting rid of things we haven’t used for a while, dropping them off at a charity shop or going to the skip… just look at the queues and you can tell it’s on everyone’s agenda just now. 

But is it also time to Spring clean your mind? Many of us tend to hold on to worries and negative stuff, but why not send them to the skip too? I find the easiest way is to focus on the positives. Just get a piece of paper and write down five things that you are thankful for. They don’t have to be major. For most the gratitude will include family and friends, but it can also be simple things like a hot shower or your car! Once you’ve written them down, read the list a couple of times then throw it away. It’s for your eyes only and you can rewrite your gratitude list anytime you feel like you need a boost.
